Very few Batsmen in Bangladesh have an average over 40 in first class career; even many Bangladeshi test capped players have a meager average in domestic arena of full length matches. Abdul Mazid scored more than 2500 runs in domestic league and currently maintaining an average of 43; but still he’s struggling to draw the focus of the selectors. But certainly he has made an impact today as he has scored a magnificent ton against England XI in the second practice match at Chittagong. He magisterially prevailed over the English bowlers and scored 106 runs in just 95 balls. Despite his magnificent innings, BCB XI failed to cross 300 mark as the lower order failed to put significant runs on the board. Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mosaddek Hossain scored 72 and 47 runs respectively, but it was not enough to make a bulwark against steaming English bowling lineup after lunch.
BCB XI eventually scored 294 runs losing their all wickets. Zafar Ansari claimed 4 wickets with his orthodox left arm bowling. Broad and Batty took 2 wickets each.
In reply, Hameed and Duckett started English inning very cautiously and scored 2 runs playing last four overs of the day.
