BCB XI yesterday managed to score 294 runs losing all their wickets and today their bowlers had done exceedingly good job as they restricted England XI within 254 runs. Tanveer Haider, a leggy from Rangpur, mainly dismissed English top order and took 4 wickets.
England XI started really well. The 19 year old young sensation Haseeb Hameed has scored 57 runs playing some confident shots and another opener Ben Duckett has continued his good form from ODI series scoring 60 runs. Both the openers retired out to render batting practice to others. However, rest batsmen were unable to put any significant impact and at the end of the day they failed to play even 80 overs. Gary Balance tried to augment English score by putting 36 runs but he was unable to continue further due to the lack of partners on the other side of the crease.
All bowlers of BCB XI bowled really well. Taskin Ahmed made his comeback in red-ball cricket after almost four years, bowled 13 overs and took one wicket. He seemed confident and rhythmic with the cherry ball. Al-Amin was exceptionally phenomenal. He Bowled 10 overs and gave away only 8 runs with 7 maidens. Though he didn’t get any wicket, he surely bowled with his heart.
BCB XI didn’t get the opportunity to bat again as the umpires called the day off due to bad light. The match ended with a presupposed draw.
Bangladesh will face England in the first Test on October 20. BCB has already announced the squad for the first test.
