Chandika, the head coach of Bangladesh, expressed his uncertain context about Bangladeshi bowlers to take all 20 wickets of opponent in a test match. But Shakib al Hasan, yesterday, hoped that if his team gets the wicket favorable for spinners, then Bangladesh will certainly be able to bowl out England two times in the upcoming Chittagong test.
This test is somewhat a new start for Bangladesh as they are playing test after 14 months. They have played their last test against South Africa on home soil in 2015. ‘Yes, after such type of break everything seems new, it’s true. But you have to face this challenge, you have to bat longer, bowl longer, field longer. It depends on your mental preparation’, Shakib was replying when he was asked about this long break from test cricket.
Before this break, Bangladesh, however, had been successful consecutively in test arena. They have won three test matches among their last eight games, drawn 4 and lost only one match against Pakistan. If this record inspires Bangladesh then England will be inspired by the fact that they haven’t been lost a single test match against Bangladesh yet. Shakib, in fact, doesn’t want to recall that past. He is very much confident that Team Bangladesh will play to win the upcoming series.
Bangladesh squad consists of two pacers only. The selectors also called 4 new faces in the squad. It seems quite obvious that Bangladesh will play mainly depending on spinners. Chandika is very much excited with Sabbir Rahman, as he shined in the practice match taking three wickets with his leg-spin. But, it’s true that the main baton will be carried by Shakib, the only consistent spinner of Bangladesh for the last 8 years. Shakib, however, doesn’t think like that. ‘I just try to perform my task. And now we have Taijul who is also been consistent since the last Zimbabwe series. I ain’t feeling pressure at all.’
England team, on the contrary, will be led by their regular skipper Cook as he came back after the birth of his second child. The first match of the two games series will be started tomorrow at 10:00 AM local time.
