After an unavoidable interruption of rain, the 4th edition of Bangladesh Premier League is ready to set off again from Tuesday. Defending Champion Comilla Victorians will face Chittagong Vikings in the rescheduled opening match.
Comilla captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will try to imitate previous year’s success once again. His team was the surprise package last year. This year, their team is also promising enough to repeat the feat.
Inform Bangladesh batsman Imrul Kayes will try to carry on his brilliant form. Liton Das and Nazmul Hasan Shanto are two solid options in the top order. Ahmed Shehzad and Khalid Latif can also provide some fireworks. Mashrafe’s team will be heavily dependent on some handy all rounders. Ashar Zaidi emerged as a genuine match winner last year, became the man of the tournament in Comilla’s successful campaign. Pakistan’s Imad Waseem, Sohail Tanvir also can win the match in their days.
Chittagong is set to be captained by the dashing Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal. Chittagong will try to erase last year’s frustration with some exciting new signings this time. Chris Gayle is the most destructive batsman in the shortest format of cricket. Gayle will join Chittagong in the later part of the tournament.
However, Chittagong looks solid with some blistering players. Dwain Smith, Shoaib Malik, Grant Elliott, Jeevan Mendis, Mohammad Nabi as well as locals like Taskin Ahmed, Anamul Haque, Abdur Razzak can all make the difference in their own days.
Tamim is in tremendous form with bat as he has scored 271 runs in the last ODI series against England with an average of 57.75. He was the 3rd highest run scorer of the last BPL with 279 runs from 13 matches.
If the nature don’t interrupt once again, a mouth watering match is on the verge .
