With the Victorians 36 for 2 on the card, Vikings’ Mohammad Nabi played the instrumental role to set his side for a win from the very first match of the season. With his 3rd T20 4 wicket haul, his best in BPL, the Afghan off-spinning allrounder is now the seven highest wicket taker in the BPL, including all editions.
He got rid of Liton Das off his very first over as the Victorians opener did not seem at ease all through his short-lived (13 run from 18 balls) innings. Nabi then dismissed the key man Ashar Zaidi for 2 in the following over getting him deceived by an arm ball and disturbing the stumps. Nabi’s hunt continued as he bowled Al-Amin (14) and made a hat-trick chance by trapping Sohail Tanvir in front for a duck.
With the Rangpur Riders, 32 years old Afghan national did not have an impressive season last year. But with this amazing display of off-spin in the season-opener, Nabi is all set to bounce back this time.
