‘Captain’ Mahmudullah continued his good form from the last BPL as he stars in his side’s thrilling win in their season-opener. After scoring valuable 32 runs under pressure, he then wrapped up the RK tail-enders to ensure a 3-runs win for the Titans.
Winning the toss, Mahmudullah opted to bat first. Scoring at a steady rate, his top order strangled suddenly as they were 72 for 4 at one point. It was Mahmudullah who then lifted the score past 100. He was caught by Farhad Reza to become Abul Hasan’s second prey before posting 32 off 21 balls with 3 fours and 1 six. His team finally managed to put 133 on the card.
It was then the last over of RK innings which ensured Mahmudullah as player of the match. The captain came to deliver the nail-biting final over off which the Kings required 7 runs to win with 3 wickets remaining. The equation was simplified to 4 off 4 before Mahmudullah dismissed Abul Hasan and Mohammad Sami from back-to-back deliveries. He then got the last batsman stumped off the last ball.
