An all-round performance from Thisara Perera have helped the Barisal Bulls to post their first win in the 4th edition of BPL T20. Perera, who was involved in an economical bowling performance, later flourished with the bat to steer his side past the finish line.
Perera came into the attack in the 12th over and conceded only 4 runs. From that one, Comilla lost their 5th wicket as Imad Wasim was run out for 1. Continuing the spell, he then got rid of Nahidul Islam by making him Abu Haider’s catch at mid-wicket. Maintaining his line and length well, Perera finished with a figure of 4-0-20-1.
While chasing a target of 130, Perera joined his skipper Mushfiqur Rahim having his side reduced to 69 for 3. He put a valuable 49-runs partnership with Mushi to keep the chase on course. Mushfiq was caught behind for 33 but Perera continued with his impressive knock and accomplished the win in a style, flicking a fuller ball with one hand towards the deep square leg boundary line. He was unbeaten on 34 off 20 balls smashing 3 fours and 1 six.
