The Chittagong Vikings have failed to entertain their home crowd with a win as their losing streak continues in the second phase of AKS BPL T20 2016. The Dhaka Dynamites restricted them to 129/8 after posting a total of 148/9.
Put in to bat first, Dhaka started it briskly as their openers posted 41 off 28 balls before Mehedi Maruf was trapped in front by Mohammad Nabi for 33. Nasir then put a 31 runs stand with Sanga but both of them were dismissed from a single over of Tymal Mills. From there, only Mosaddek gave the Vikings bowlers tough times with his 35 off 26 with 2 fours and same number of sixes. Five of their middle and lower order batsmen could not reach double-digit run as Dhaka ended on 148/9. For Chittagong, Mohammad Nabi and Tymal Mills claimed three wicket each.
Chasing down the total, CHV lost wickets from the beginning which made things harder for them. Opener Tamim was the highest individual scorer for them with his 26. None of their top and middle orders could make innings longer. Some late entertainment only minimized the margin.
Dhaka Dynamites 148/9, 20 overs (Mosaddek 35, Mehedi 33; Nabi 3/18, Mills 3/28); Chittagong Vikings 129/8, 20 overs (Tamim 26, Mahmudul 20; Shahid 3/23)
Result: Dhaka Dynamites won by 19 runs
Man of the match: Mohammad Shahid (Dhaka Dynamites)
