Match Report: Last over thriller-killer Khulna Titans


Another nail-biting contest and Mahmudullah and Co have nailed it once again, beating the table-toppers Dhaka Dynamites this time. After posting a total of 157/5, the Titans demolished DD 9 runs short despite a brilliant late knock from Seekkuge Prasanna.

Losing 4 top orders for 30, Dhaka were literally struggling with the chase. Mosaddek knocked 35 off 28 with before reducing his side to 83/7. Here came Seekkuge Prasanna who started the show bashing Cooper for three big sixes off a single over. He continued to dominate over the bowlers to shade the game a thrilling smell posting 53 off 22, taking the aerial route for seven times. However, he fell as the last batsman from first ball of the last over, getting DD demolished on 148.

Opting to bat first, Titans were slow off the blocks, scoring only 23 runs from the first 4 overs and losing both the openers. However, captain Mahmudullah applied a special effort to pull his side out of danger. He scored 62 off 44, smashing 4 fours and 4 sixes while making stands of 44, 29 and 57 with Shuvagata (24), Pooran (16) and Taibur Rahman (21). All that contributions together posted 157 one the card.
