Match Report: Titans clinch comprehensive win over Bulls

The Khulna Titans have regained their position on top of the point table defeating the Barisal Bulls by 6 wickets. Restricting the opponents to 119, KHT gunned down the runs in 18.4 over. The Bulls have conceded consecutive 4th loss as they now remain on the 6th position.

In pursuit of the total, Khulna were reduced to 16 for 2 as Hasanuzzaman was bowled out by Taijul Islam and Rumman Raees removed Riki wessels. Mushfiqur Rahim then got rid of Taibur Rahman hitting the stumps directly when the Titans were on 49. However, a solid partnership of 57 runs between skipper Mahmudullah and Shuvagata Hom set them on the verge of win before Raees bowled him for 40. Nevertheless, Mahmudullah survived to steer his side past the finish line with 6 wickets and 8 balls remaining.

Opting to bat first, the Bulls had a poor start losing both of their openers within first five overs. Shahriar Nafees and Mushfiqur Rahim seemed to take the rescuers’ role one more time as the duo put 42 off 37 balls before Nafees was trapped in front by Mosharraf Rubel for 23. Mushfiq then wasted his wicket for 31, reducing his side to 79/5, looking for a cheeky single as Thisara Perera did not respond to his call. Perera and Enamul then stitched together a 40-run partnership which helped them to a decent score of 119. Enamu was not out on 20 and Perera on 17. For the Titans, Zunaid Khan, Mosharraf Rubel and Shafiul Islam claimed one wicket each.
