The Kings’ leader Darren Sammy has finally found his way in this BPL edition as his blistering knock set the platform for another crucial win for the Rajshahi Kings. In a final over contest, Sammy’s unbeaten 44 proved vital as the Kings defeated the Rangpur Riders by 12 runs.
Sent to bat first, RK lost wickets at regular intervals getting reduced to 92/5. From there, Sammy stormed to raise the team total to 162/5 with an unbroken partnership of 70 runs off 37 balls with Umar Akmal. Sammy rotated strikes first to get set in the middle. Then he singled out Anwar Ali to punish whom he sent to the stands for 4 sixes and 2 fours. The dynamic duo scored 55 runs from the final 3 overs. Sammy was not out on 44 off only 18 balls hitting 3 fours and 4 sixes.
Later, the Rangpur Riders were restricted to 150/5 as they lost the match by 12 runs.
