The Dhaka Dynamites have regained their winning power defeating the Comilla Victorians by 32 runs. After posting a total of 170 courtesy skipper Shakib’s blitzing knock, Dhaka bowlers restricted the Victorians to 138/8. With this win, Dhaka raise them to the 3rd position while Comilla continues to roll on the floor of the point table.
Opting to bat first, Mehedi and Sangakkara started it lively for the Dynamites as they scored 32 runs from the first 3 overs But Sohail Tanvir and Nabil Samad thwarted the flourish and Nabil got Mehedi stumped for 22. Nabil gave only 6 runs from his first two overs to restrict DD to 49 off 7 overs. However, two Lankan legends Sangakkara and Jayawardene raised the total to 83 from 10.4 overs. Their 55-run stand came to an end as both were bowled out by Comilla’s Afghan leg spinner Rashid Khan from his immediate overs, Sangakkara for 33 and Jayawardene for 31. Shakib and Mosaddek then gave the Dynamites a final blow to lift the score to 170/4. Mosaddek was dismissed for 25 from 18, however, Shakib remained not out on 41 off 26 with 4 fours and 1 six.
Tracking the target, COV top order attempted a cautious start, albeit lost wickets regularly getting reduced to 106 for 5. Opener Khalid Latif was most successful among the Comilla batsmen who scored 38 from 33 before skying a delivery from DJ Bravo to Sanzamul Islam at long off. Ahmed Shehzad was second highest scorer with his run-a-ball 22. No other COV batsman could get past 20 which eventually saw them restricted to 138 at the end. For DD, Bravo claimed 3 wickets for 19 runs.
