The Vikings’ skipper Tamim Iqbal overshadowed his opening partner Chris Gayle to pilot his side’s chase against the Rangpur Riders which they have won by 9 wickets. In pursuit of 124, Tamim was not out on 62 from 48 balls and was awarded the man of the match.
Tamim and Gayle started it cautiously in a wicket seemingly not that much batting-friendly. However, both of them opened the face of their bat to charge the opponent bowlers. They put 70 runs together from 54 balls before Gayle was caught by Anwar Ali and bowled by Shahid Afridi for 40 off 28. However, Tamim continued with his dominance to steer the Vikings past the finish line with 9 wickets and 4 overs remaining as he was not out on 62 from 48 hitting 9 fours and 1 six.
