It is the final of the 4th edition of BPL and two times champions Dhaka team will face the new team Rajshahi Kings in this grand occasion. These teams have met two times in this season at the league stage and both times Rajshahi prevailed.
Dhaka are clearly the more powerful and more star studded squad. The have four master class Caribbeans -Lewis, Bravo and Russell. Two of them have played and won WT20 finals. They have one of the best keeper batsman of all times Sangakkara. They have Shakib Al Hasan, world’s best all rounder. Nasir Hossain, Mehedi Maruf, Abu Jayed and Mosaddek Hossain – all are in brilliant forms of their own. In paper they are clearly the better team. But the fact remains they have lost both times ro Rajshahi while remaining at the top of the table. But let’s see if they can overcome this bane and play to their true potential thus claiming the BPL trophy for the third time.
Rajshahi are clearly the peoples champion already. Being the underdogs and the new face of the BPL they have already won the general public’s hearts. Most of the credit goes to the two time World T20 champion captain Darren Sammy. They have the most balanced side and depths in batting and variation in bowling line ups. Then they have Samit Patel, the veteran who took the matches out of the hands of Dhaka both times they have met. Surely Sammy and co. will keep their winning combination and streak going and claim this win to become their maiden run in the BPL the most successful one.
