BCB XI clinched a perfect win in the first warm up game at North Sydney Oval today. They have played against one of the Big Bash teams Sydney Sixers and showed mesmerizing batting display in a curtailed over T20 game.

Mashrafe Mortaza, the skipper, decided to bowl first after he had won the toss. But two openers of Sixers started phenomenally and scored runs in quick succession. BCB XI, however, returned magnificently with some tight bowling display after the initial fallback and forced Sixers batsmen to stumble at regular interval. Soumya showed his skill with ball to become the most successful bowler by securing 3 wickets at the last over of the innings. His outstanding bowling figure was like 1-0-5-3. Sydney Sixers eventually scored 169 runs losing 9 wickets.

During the break, rain took place in the ground and force umpires to curtail 12 overs of Bangladesh innings. The new target was set 84 run in 8 overs according to D/L method. Bangladeshi openers held their sway while came to bat and scored 17 runs in the very first over of the innings. The smashing start continued along with the bat of Soumya who scored 20 runs taking only 9 balls to play. But following his departure, Shabbir and Kayes also left the crease quickly and BCB XI started to feel the heat.

Mahmudullah and Mushfiq then acted like juggernauts and their unbeaten, blistering partnership helped the team to anchor safely with 8 balls to spare. Mahmudullah scored 28 runs out of 13 balls whereas Mushfiq scored 15 runs out of 8 balls.

BCB XI played the game without the big guns like Shakib, Tamim and Mustafiz. They will face Sydney Thunders on upcoming Friday at Spotless Stadium, Sydney.
