Taskin Ahmed is probably going to make his test debut in the upcoming Wellington test and very much enthusiastic to do well in a condition that is suitable for pacers. He expressed his thoughts in a press briefing today.

About the pitch

“Bowlers are really happy after looking this pitch. It’s greenish and hard. It’s good to bowl and I’m also very happy. We are gonna enjoy here.”

About the bowling option

“We have couple of very good fast bowlers. We can do well and we have proved already. If we can bowl according to our potential properly then I think it will be a different history.”

About the team morale after clean sweep in shorter formats

“We haven’t done well in batting section but still we are trying. Day by day we are adjusting to this condition.”

About Kiwi bowling department

“No doubt they have a very good bowling side. In their own condition, New Zealand bowlers are always on the top. So, it’s very hard to do well against them, not only ourselves but also other teams as well. But still we are hopeful and we will do well.”

About the test debut

“To speak the truth, it will be a dream to come true if I get the opportunity to play the next match.  I have played some international matches in the last three years and always I’d to leave the team after the end of ODI or T20 series. Now I’ve got the chance and if I get the opportunity to play then I’ll give my best effort.”

About his fitness to play test match

“Actually I’d to work really hard to come at this point. Especially BCB has taken extra program to keep me fit and so my coaches and trainers. I followed the routine for the last 2 years and also played some longer version practice games. I’ve done well to increase my fitness and so I think the selectors have given me the opportunity. My job is not only for one test, I’ll take the challenge to play test matches consistently.”

About any over-limit in the match

“I’m not worried about the number of spells in the match. If I play a test match now, then I’ve to bowl 15-20 overs minimum a day. So I don’t think playing only 10 first class match will thwart me to do well in the test match.”
