Mushfiqur Rahim, the skipper of Bangladesh test team, has expressed his beliefs that Bangladesh will overcome the horrible bad patches of shorter version and do well in the test cricket. Bangladesh will face New Zealand in the first test of 2 match test series tomorrow.

Bangladesh have faced the fastness of the New Zealanders during the ODI and T20 series as they have lost all those matches. Mushfiq, however, doesn’t want to recall that past and hopes to do well in the upcoming match.

Bangladesh has a good memory in test cricket as they have beaten England for the first time in the last October. Mushfiq doesn’t want to think about this win as it was on home soil and won’t provide any head start in this condition. Mushfiq also believes that Bangladesh have to do many things to be an influential force in test arena. “Win over England doesn’t mean that Bangladesh is now a dominating force in test cricket. But I strongly believe that if our bowlers get the condition like our home, then they will be able to bring some positive results. The only goal in this year is to perform consistently in the overseas conditions like we did at home.”

Mushfiq emphasized on the batting section and expected his batsmen to learn from their mistakes from ODI matches. “We have a challenge to prove ourselves in the overseas condition and our batsmen have to execute the main job. We have to try hard to play for longer period and must start well. Tamim, Shakib, Riad vai had scored runs here but now we have to put our efforts as a team.”

The condition in Wellington is too much windy and Mushfiq acknowledged this as a challenging factor. “We have played here before and obviously we know that wind plays a crucial part. Bowlers have to adjust themselves according to the direction, fielders get confused, and batsmen also get deceived due to the uneven movements. We have worked on this factor during the practice.”

The captain finds the first innings as the driving force of the match and pledged to do well in that innings by any means. “First innings is the crucial factor for us. No matter what we do, we have to put our full efforts to do well in the first innings and stay in the match for the long time.”

This match will come as a huge excitement for Taskin Ahmed as he is almost sure to make his debut in test arena by this match tomorrow. The skipper is also hopeful with him as his pace may prove beneficial on a grassy pitch.
