Bangladesh badly missed Mushfiqur Rahim in the ODI and T20 series as he had pulled his hamstring during the first ODI. Today he has proved his effectiveness in the team and along with Shakib al Hasan rewrite many pages of the record book by putting a massive fifth wicket partnership of 359 runs. This is the fourth best fifth wicket partnership in the history of test cricket.

Mushfiq has scored 159 runs from 260 balls. His 365 minutes innings is adorned with 23 fours and 1 six. Mushfiq may also get relieved after playing this big innings as he was seriously in a bad patch in the last year and he owed to his team a big innings.

Mushfiq came to the crease very early in the morning as Mominul had departed without adding any run to his previous day’s 64. Initially he was calm, composed and acted like an anchorman to carry on the partnership. But after his fifty he blossomed as a stroke player and played magnificent shots all around the ground. He took some time on 98 to reach 100 but after securing it he moved to 150 in no time. This is Mushfiq’s fourth hundred in test cricket and third out of Bangladesh.

Mushfiq’s celebration was also remarkable as he pulled out a coin out of his shirt as soon as he reached his hundred and smiled vividly.
