On a shining sunny day in Wellington, Bangladesh are dominating the kiwi bowlers and clearly on the way to take a massive first innings lead. Shakib al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim are entirely magnificent and both have secured their fourth centuries in test cricket. Together they have put a record breaking 5th wicket partnership for Bangladesh against New Zealand. They have overpassed the previous best record of 161 made by Tamim and Junaid.
Nothing is suitable to describe the batting elegance of this pair. Kiwi bowlers have tried everything to pick them up but they didn’t provide any chance to them. New Zealand have taken the new ball after 80 overs to seek movement but this pair has exterminated any vestige of trouble. Their dominance can be expressed by one single stat as they have scored runs with 4.1 RR per over!
In the meantime, Shakib al Hasan has also achieved a personal emblem to score 3000 runs in test cricket. He is now the third Bangladeshi to do so after Habibul Bashar and Tamim Iqbal.
Bangladesh went to tea on 391 for 4.
