Undoubtedly, Liton Das is one of the most talented young batsmen of Bangladesh and again he proved his elegance in domestic cricket by scoring a scintillating double ton. Riding on his maiden double century, Islami Bank East Zone managed to take a lead of 124 runs.
East Zone had ended yesterday in a comfortable position as they had scored 97 runs without losing any wicket. But the batsmen, except Liton, failed to capitalize their century opening stand and their venture got ended by 367 runs. Liton was stalwart on one side of the crease and was utterly courageous to play shots frequently. His 219 runs innings is adorned with 26 fours and 4 sixes. He took only 241 balls and scored runs with a strike rate over 90. Shuvagata Hom was the most successful bowler for Walton Central Zone since he secured 5 wickets.
Central Zone started their second innings nicely in reply to the lead of 124 runs. They only lost Saif Hassan so far but put already 65 runs on the board.
In another match at Sylhet, BCB North Zone are executing sloth batting display and yet to finish their first innings at the end of day two. Naeem Islam still remains unbeaten and so far he has played a very patient innings of 172 runs. He took 457 balls to score these runs. North Zone are on 474 for 7. Abdur Razzak has secured 3 wickets for Prime Bank South Zone.
