23 years old pacer, Abu Jayed has been called to Bangladesh’s squad as back-up pacer for the one-off practice match against India A beginning on February 5 in Hyderabad.
Bangladesh picked 15 players for the one-off test match, and Jayed will join them as sixteenth number to play the practice match only. His performance in the recent past and abilitiy to bowl well for a longer period encouraged the selectors to give a chance against India A.
Abu Jayed is a common-face in Bangladesh domestic cricket and plays for Sylhet division and Islami Bank East Zone. He has clinched 31 wickets in his last four first class matches with four consecutive fifers. He is also a seasoned campaigner as he has already played 50 first class matches to take 156 wickets with an average of 26.51.
