After passing some drought-stricken months, a light finally blinked for Soumya Sarkar during the tour of New Zealand. He continued his improvement in a far different condition of India but failed again to capitalize his early gains to play a big innings. He scored 52 runs today, but should have been stayed on the crease for much longer.

On the brink of facing world’s number one team, their batting still lacks confidence and patience as all seasoned batsmen except Mushfiq failed to carry on after starting well.Mushfiq was stalwart at one end but the regular falls on the other surely encumbered his temperament. He got out just after tea break with scoring 58 runs.
