Bangladesh women have to win their opening game against Papua New Guinea women to start the tournament with a blast and the girls have done their job fantastically. Executing an all-round performance, Bangladesh women won the match by 118 runs.

Bangladesh’s innings was slow to develop, and for some time after the fourth wicket fell at 121 it was not certain that they would muster enough runs. But the later batsmen all made useful contributions and the Papua New Guinea’s bowlers helped with fourteen extras. Sharmin Akhter and Fargana Haque both played fifty plus innings.

In reply to Bangladeshi total, Papua New Guinea went through a dramatic collapse after a decent start and got all out by 97 from 59/4. All Bangladeshi bowlers were destructive equally to restrict PNG women below 100.

Bangladesh Women will face Pakistan Women tomorrow in their second game of the tournament.
