Stumps: Day 1

India- 356/3 (Kohli 111*, Vijay 108, Taijul 1/50)

Bangladesh have passed a tough day in Hyderabad as Indian batsmen scored runs over an incessant rate of 3.5. Their first venture in test cricket on Indian soil can be called unlucky as many catches weren’t carried to the fielders. But Indian batsmen were also phenomenal to extract every benefit from pitch to perfection.

The pitch seemed apparently grassy; but underneath of grass it’s a hard and nice track to bat on. Virat Kohli took the right decision of batting first after winning the toss. However, Bangladesh started phenomenally as Taskin secured a wicket on his fourth delivery. He offered an over-pitched delivery outside the off-stump but Rahul only could able to drag the ball to the stumps.

Bowlers were fiercely charged up in the morning but luck deprived them miserably. Couple of catches wasn’t carried to the fielders. Pujara was edged by Miraz’s two deliveries in a single over while pushing away from the body but they were too far from Shakib.

Bangladesh couldn’t blame their luck for muddling up an easy run out chance. Pujara and Vijay messed up completely while taking a single and Rabbi did well in square-leg cordon to pick up and throw the ball. Miraz failed to grasp it and in the meantime Vijay returned to the crease.

Pujara got edged on 83 by a typical delivery from Miraz. The ball then hit the pad of Mushfiq, jumped up and Mushfiq dived to grab the ball. Vijay stayed on the crease more times to get his ninth ton in test cricket and eventually got out by Taijul. He missed the length completely while sweeping a drifted ball and lost his stumps.

Since then Kohli and Rahane played to perfection and rendered India to pass an impeccable day. They were extremely pumped up in the final hour and executed their skills playing some brilliant master strokes. Kohli clinched his 16th test century just before the end of today’s play.
