After the disappointing loss against Pakistan, Bangladesh women have back to the business in the ICC Women qualifier by defeating Scotland by 7 wickets. Bangladesh has now the genuine chance to make it into the super six. They will face South Africa tomorrow in their last match of the group stage.
After losing the toss, Bangladesh was sent to bat by Scotland Captain. Bowlers gave a early breakthrough in the 4th over. Scotland tried to build the innings with two steady top order partnerships. But bowlers grabbed wickets in a regular interval. From 87/3, Scotland lost the last seven wickets between 53 runs. They were all out at 140 in 49.1 overs. Apart from Shaila Sharmin, each of the Bangladesh bowlers grabbed at least one wickets. Khadiza Tul Kubra and Salma Khatun were the most successful ones with three wicket haul.
Chasing the modest total of 141, Bangladesh were in the complete control of the match from the beginning. Openers gave a solid start of 26. Then Scotland bowlers had a double strike by dismissing Sharmin and Sanjida. But Fargana kept her cool and guided the team towards the victory. She was unbeaten at 53 from 109 balls. Rumana also played an unbeaten and crucial knock of 38 of just 46 balls. In the end, Bangladesh won the match with 7 wickets and 12.3 overs in hand.
