Bangladesh Women 100/10 in 46.5 overs (Rumana 39, Ismail 3/14)
South Africa Women 101/4 in 25.2 overs (Lee 34, Salma 1/14)
Bangladesh women played 5 match ODI series against South Africa women at home and dreadfully lost four of the games. Throughout the series they suffered due to their batting failure and couldn’t utilize the gains accrued by the bowlers. In the match against the known opponent in the ICC women’s world cup qualifiers, batsmen again failed awfully and Bangladesh women lost the match covering a big margin of six wickets.
Three out of four top-order batsmen returned to dressing room without scoring any and only three batsmen scored double digit runs. Rumana played an innings of 39 runs which somehow render Bangladesh to reach 100 mark. They survived 46.5 overs but scored runs with a rate of 2.13 runs.
It was a glib job for SA batters overpass this meager score. Their openers did the half of the job as they put 50 runs stand. Bangladeshi bowlers grabbed some wickets in the quick succession after that but it didn’t thwart SA girls to win this match.
Bangladesh women have won two out of their four matches in the group stage and secured third place in the group. Despite to this loss, they have qualified for the super-six stage.
