South Zone batsmen, especially Tushar Imran, have well dominated over the North Zone bowlers at BKSP while, at Fatullah, East zone pacer Abu Zayed has dismantled the Central Zone top order. After the first day of the 4th round of Bangladesh Cricket League, Central Zone are batting on 232/7 and South Zone on 292/3.
Opting to bowl first, East Zone got their breakthrough from the 3rd over of the innings as Abu Zayed trapped opener Abdul Mazid in front. The right-arm pacer continued to spark as he claimed three other top orders and reduced Central Zone to 75/4. It’s his 7th four wicket haul in first class cricket. It was then Shuvagata Hom (46) and Nurul Hasan (65) who offered some resistance for the Central Zone before falling prey to spinners.
In another match, Anamul Haque (39), Soumya Sarkar (26) and Imrul Kayes (31) provided the South Zone with a brisk start on which Tushar Imran and Shahriar Nafees continued to capitalize till the end of the day. Tushar has claimed his 22nd first class century as he remains unbeaten on 127 off 234 with 14 fours and 2 sixes. At the other end, Shahriar Nafees is batting on 50.
