BCB North Zone are on the verge of victory

BCB North Zone are on the verge of victory after the third day in Bangladesh Cricket league against Walton Central Zone. Islami Bank East Zone are also in a commanding position against Prime Bank South Zone.

The second day of the BCL was a run fest for the batsmen. The bowlers enjoyed some moments in the third day. Naeem Islam and Nazmul Hossain scored centuries for North Zone in the second day. Dhiman Ghosh joined the party in the third day. Naeeem Islam could not extend his innings and was eventually out for 142 . But Dhiman added 60 run with Alauddin Babu in the ninth wicket. After Dhimans departure, he added 31 runs the in the last wicket. North Zone was finally all out for 537 runs.

Alauddin Babu had his moments with the ball later. After a steady partnership of Saif Hasan and Abdul Mazid for Central Zone, it was all about the North Zone bowlers. Naeem gave the initial breakthrough dismissing Mazid for 43. But none of the middle order batsman could carry the momentum of the openers. Saif Hassan stood there for a long time . Finally Babu got rid of him for at 70 runs. Babu later grabbed three more wickets. At the end of the day, Central Zone trail 1 27 runs with 2 wickets remaining. Tanbir Hayder was unbeaten on 42 runs.

 

Islami Bank East Zone also climbed to a mammoth 523 runs in their first innings. All of the lower order batsmen contributed with the bat. Alok Kapali, Mohammad Saifuddin and Rahatul Ferdous scored half centuries. Prima Bank South Zone still trail by 198 runs in the second innings. They have a huge task to save the match tomorrow (Wednesday).
