Bangladesh clinched a memorable 4 wicket win against Sri Lanka at the Colombo Test and leveled the series 1-1. It was Bangladesh’s first ever win against Sri Lanka in Test. They are the only the fourth Test team to win their 100th Test.
Bangladesh needed only 35 runs to win in the last session. Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan started the session for Bangladesh. Dilruwan Perera struck just after the tea and bowled Shakib out on 15.
Next batsman Mosaddek Hossain added crucial 27 runs in the 6th wicket with Mushfiqur. Mosaddek was was gone for 13, just 2 runs short of victory. Mehedi Hasan hits the winning shot and sealed the historic win for Bangladesh.
Earlier Sri Lanka were bowled out for 319 runs in the morning and set up a target of 191 for Bangladesh.
In reply, Bangladesh lost the wicket of Soumya Sarkar early in their innings. Herath dismissed him on 10. Imrul Kayes was gone for a duck in the next ball.
Then Tamim Iqbal and Sabbir Rahman put on a 109 runs the 3rd wicket. Tamim played an classy inning of 82 from 125 balls before Dilruwan Perara picked up his wicket. Couple of over later Perera struck again and got rid of Sabbir on 41.
