First match of Tri-Nation series between Ireland and Bangladesh has been abandoned due to heavy rain at Malahide, Dublin.

Batting first Bangladesh didn’t have a good start as they lost 4 wickets for 70. Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah’s unbeaten 87 run partnership in the 5th wicket rescued Bangladesh from early damage. Before rain interrupted the play, Tamim was unbeaten on 64 and his partner Mahmudullah was on 43. Tamim’s 35th ODI half-century included 8 fours. Peter Chase picked up 3 wickets for 33.

Bangladesh will play their next match against New Zealand at Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, Dublin on 17th May.
