Bangladesh moved to sixth position in the recently published MRF Tyers ICC ODI Team Rankings for the first time in their history, confirmed by ICC Press Release. The achievement came following Bangladesh’s 5 wicket victory against New Zealand at Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, Dublin.
Bangladesh started the Tri-Nation series from 7th place. After the recent win,Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are now par with 93 points but Bangladesh is ranked above Sri Lanka as they have better decimal points (93.3) compared to Sri Lanka’s (92.8).
Bangladesh is now ahead of eighth-ranked Pakistan by 5 points and ninth-ranked West Indies by 14 points. With 30 September 2017 being the cut off date, apart from the host England rankings top seven team will be automatically qualified for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.
