Practice match ends in a draw

Due to heavy rain and bad weather, 3-day practice match between Bangladesh Red and Bangladesh Green ended in a draw after the third and final day was washed out at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong.

Batting first in the first day, Mushfiqur’s  Bangladesh Red declared their 1st innings on 140 for 9. Nazmul Hossain was the topped the batting chart with 51. Shafiul Islam claimed 5 wickets for 17. In reply Tamim’s Bangladesh Green were all out for 283 and took a 143 runs lead. Mominul Haque, Nasir Hossain and Tanbir Haider all scored fifties. Rubel Hossain and Saqlain Sajib grabbed 3 wickets each.

Before end of the second day’s play, Red team added 24 for 1 in 5 overs. Mustafizur Rahman got the only wicket of Imrul Kayes.

Bangladesh team played the practice match as part of their preparation ahead of the upcoming Test series against Australia. First Test is scheduled to start from 27 August in Dhaka.
