Stumps, Day 1.
South Africa : 428/3 in 90 overs (Markram 143, Elgar 113, Amla 89*; Subashis 2/85, Rubel 1/91)
Bangladesh bowlers have struggled in the first day as South Africa took charge of the second Test at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein. After end of the first day, South Africa are 428 for 3 in 90 overs.
Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and elected to field first. But Dean Elgar and Aiden Markram dominated the first two sessions and their 243 runs in the opening partnership gave South Africa a solid start. Subashis Roy finally broke this partnership before tea break and got rid of Elgar on 113.
After tea, Rubel Hossain bowled Markram out on 143. Couple of overs later Subashis dismissed Temba Bavuma on 7. But an unbeaten 140 runs partnership between Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis in the fourth wicket denied Tigers any more hope further in the day. Amla remained not out on 89 and du Plessis on 62. Subashis picked up 2 wickets for 85.
