Ex Cricketers celebrate Independence day at Mirpur

    Bangladesh Red XI beat Bangladesh Green XI by 6 wickets in the Independence Day 2018 Exhibition Match at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

    Batting first Green XI posted 166 for 7 in 20 overs. Rafiqul Islam  played the highest knock of 34 for the Red’s. Harunur Rashid remained not out on 27 off 16 balls. Zakir Hasan and Khaled Mahmud Sujon claimed 3 wickets each.

    Red XI chased down the target easily thanks to Hannan Sarkar’s quick-fire half-century. Hannan was dismissed after scoring 61 off just 24 balls. Khaled Mahmud Sujon was unbeaten on 28. Sharifuddin Ahmed Babu took 2 wickets for 18.

    Bangladesh Green XI : 166/7 in 20 overs (Rafiqul Islam 34, Harunur Rashid 27*, Jahangir Alam 27; Zakir Hasan 3/22, Khaled Mahmud 3/41, Talha Jubair 1/16)

    Bangladesh Red XI : 167/4 in 18.1 overs (Hannan Sarkar 67*, Minhajul Abedin 31, Khaled Mahmud 28*; Sharifuddin Ahmed 2/18, Mizanur Rahman 1/8, Saifullah 1/33)

    Result : Bangladesh Red XI won by 6 wickets.
