Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team to tour India


Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team will fly to India on Thursday (March 29) for participating in two series. In this tour, they will play a 3-match T20 series against the host and then a Tri-Nation series against India and Nepal. Those who are unable to walk or lost their legs due to accidents, only they will participate in the competition.

The series against India will go on April 1 to April 4 at Mumbai. Tri-Nation series will start on April 7 and end with the final on April 10 at Delhi. Mohammad Mohsin will lead the Bangladesh side. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will arrange all the proceedings for the Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team for this tour.

BCB Director and Chairman of Media and Communications, Md. Jalal Yunus spoke to the media in a press conference to discuss the BCB’s plan for the Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team. “We want to ensure those who are physically challenged, will not miss the happiness of cricket. BCB will try to everything possible for them in the future. Already we have a standing committee to work for the development of Wheelchair cricket, Autistic cricket.”

Players were selected for this tour from a talent-hunt around the country. Then they trained at Gazipur Ahsanullah Master Stadium in preparation for the series. Beximco Group, Bangladesh Biman and Kishor Vubon are the sponsors for the Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricket Team for India tour.
