Bangladesh have clinched the ODI series over Zimbabwe with another comfortable 7-wicket victory at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chattogram. Bangladesh lead the three-match series 2-0.
Winning the toss, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza opted to filed first. After off to a solid start, Zimbabwe was looking for a big total thanks to Brendon Taylor’s 75-run knock. But Bangladesh bowlers have bowled with discipline in the last 10 overs as they restricted the touring side to 246 for 7 in 50 overs. Saifuddin grabbed his career-best 3 for 45.
Chasing 247, Imrul Kayes and Liton Kumar Das provided Bangladesh a flying start with a 148-run partnership in 24 overs. Liton was dismissed after scoring a quick-fire 83 off 77. Fazle Rabbi got out for a duck as Zimbabwe put some pressure. But Another fine knock of 90 from Imrul made things easy for Bangladesh. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Mituhn finished the job with both was remained unbeaten on 40 and 24 respectively to power Bangladesh to a easy 7 wickets win 44.1 overs.
