Bangladesh cement their position in the second Test against Zimbabwe despite Taylor’s fightback as bowlers gave the hosts an edge at the end of the third day. At stumps, Bangladesh lead by 218 runs in the first innings.
Zimbabwe started the day on 25 for 1. Tripano got out cheaply on 8 but Chari was dismissed after scoring 53 by Taijul. Taijul struck again to bowl Sikandar for a duck. But Taylor and Moor’s 139-run stand rescued the visitors from trouble. Ariful Haque finally broke the partnership by dismissing Moor on 83. Miraz and Taijul picked up the next 5 wickets in quick-succession as Zimbabwe were all out for 304 in 105.3 overs.
Taijul grabbed his third fifer in the series as he took 5 wickets for 107. Miraz claimed 3 wickets for 61. Taylor was the highest scorer for Zimbabwe with 110.
