Bangladesh have defeated Zimbabwe by 218 runs in the second Test in Mirpur on the fifth day. Following the win, Bangladesh leveled the 2-match series 1-1.
Zimbabwe started the day with the overnight score of 76 for 2 chasing 443. Mustafizur Rahman gave the early breakthrough in the morning by dismissing Williams in the ninth over of the day. Couple of overs later, Taijul Islam got rid of Sikandar on 12. First innings centurion Taylor and Moor made things difficult for a while before Miraz claimed the wicket of Moor 13.
Miraz then went on to claim 3 more wickets as the visitors were eventually all out for 224 in 83.1 overs before the tea break. Taylor scored another fighting century and remained unbeaten on 106. Chatara was unable to bat in the both innings after sustaining an hamstring injury. Miraz grabbed his fifth 5-wicket haul in Tests for 38.
Mushfiqur Rahim was named man of the match for his brilliant double hundred in the first innings.
Taijul Islam was named player of the series for his outstanding heroics with the ball throughout the series who bagged 18 wickets in the series.
