Tigers experienced opener Tamim Iqbal made history by scoring triple hundred in the third day of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) 2019-20. Tamim’s unbeaten 334 powered Islami Bank East Zone to a mammoth total before they declared the innings on 555 for 2. At stumps of day 3, Central Zone still trailing by 227 runs with 7 wickets in hand.

Tamim started the day with the overnight score of 222 and then picked up his maiden triple ton first class cricket. Overall he became only the second Bangladeshi batsmen to achieve the mistone. Tamim eventually overtaken the previous highest scorer Rakibul Hasan’s 313 in 2007 and scored 334 when skipper Mominul Haque declared the East Zone first innings with a lead of 342 runs.
