Bangladesh U-19 aim to make history in ICC U-19 CWC 2020 Final

Young Tigers are all set for one last hurdle on their journey to the ultimate glory in the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2020 South Africa. Bangladesh U-19 will take on India U-19 in the final clash on tomorrow (February 9) at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom. The match will start from 2pm (Bangladesh time).

Akbar Ali’s team qualified to the quarter-final as the group champion and then knocked out the hosts South Africa U-19 defeating by 104 runs thanks to Rakibul Hasan’s record 5-wicket haul. It was only the second time a Bangladeshi bowler grabbed 5 wickets in this competition. In the semi-final, Young Kiwis set a target of 212 for Bangladesh U-19s which they chased successfully chased as Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored an match-winning century to give a 6-wicket victory.

With that century, Mahmudul also became only the second ever batsmen to score century in semi-final of ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup history.

Apart from him, Emon, Tanzid, Towhid and Shahadat all made valuable contributions in different stages of the competition and they will look forward to provide more in the final. Bowlers were also exceptional throughout the competition and the likes of Shoriful, Sakib, Rakibul and Shamim will try to maintain their good run to help their side in the big occasion.
