Tigers wrapped up the Only Test against Zimbabwe in style as they secured an innings and 106 runs victory in Mirpur. Nayeem Hasan’s 5-for has helped Bangladesh to bowl out Zimbabwe in the second session of fourth day. The two teams will now face each other in the 3-match ODI series starting from March 1 in Sylhet.
The visitors started the day with the overnight score of 9 for 2. Taijul Islam took little time to open his account by picking up the wicket Kasuza early in the morning for 15. Nayeem on the other end removed Taylor as Zimbabwe were reduced to 44 for 4. At that point skipper Ervine and Raza put some fightback as the pair played some attacking shots to counter the bowlers. Their effort was cut short when Ervine was run out after scoring 43.
Then only Maruma managed to score some runs as Nayeem and Taijul ran through the Zimbabwe batting order. Maruma was dismissed on 41 as the ninth batsmen as they were all out for 189. Nayeem scalped 5 wickets for 82 and ended the match with his career best bowling figure of 9 for 152 in Tests.
But it was Mushfiqur Rahim who was named the player of the match for his brilliant double century in the first innings.
