Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) are planning to start the National Team camp from the September 21. The priliminary squad will be announced in the second week of next month. Prior to the camp, BCB will start the COVID-19 test of the players. Players with COVID-19 negative report will join the squad at the team hotel on September 20.
BCB will collect COVID-19 samples from the players from their home to avoid social gathering. Before travelling to Sri Lanka, there will carry on three COVID-19 test. Any player with COVID-19 positive report will go for self-isolation. After arriving to Sri Lanka, players will face more tests from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
Chairmen of BCB Cricket Operations Akram Khan explained the whole process in a media interaction today (August 18) at SBNCS. “We will start taking COVID-19 test from September 18. Then we are planning to start the practice from September 21. After few days of practice we will travel to Sri Lanka.’
‘We will announce the preliminary squad in the early of next month. There will be up to 22 players for the camp as we are keeping in mind the current COVID-19 situation in the country. Also there will be lot of test. So we will need more options in a long tour.” Akram added.
