The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) expresses sadness at the passing away of former Australian cricketer Dean Jones. A star batsman of his era, Jones died of a heart attack in Mumbai, India today at the age of 59. The BCB extends deepest condolences to the family of Dean Jones.
Jones, a World Cup winner with Australia in 1987, had established himself as a most sought-after and respected cricket commentator after his retirement as a player. He was a popular figure in Bangladesh and had been a part of the Channel 9 commentary team in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20. He had also performed the role of the Technical Director of Chittagong Vikings in the BPL’s 2011-12 edition.
