Tamim Iqbal and Liton Kumar Das started off the innings on a good note as they added 47 runs before Akeal Hosein bowled Liton for 14. Next batsman Najmul Hossain then gone cheaply after scoring 1. Tamim on the other end looked good but missed out on a well deserved fifty as he dismissed on 44.

Akeal then removed Shakib but it was too late as Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah made unbeaten 21-run stand to get the job done in 33.5 overs. Mushfiqur remained unbeaten on 19 and Mahmudullah was on 19. Akeal bagged 3 wickets for 26 among the visiting bowlers.

Earlier Tamim invited West Indies to bat first after winning the toss. Hasan Mahmud made his ODI debut in the match and he marked the occasion by picking up 3 wickets. But it was Shakib who ran through the West Indies batting line up from the start. Only Mayers and Powell put some fightback as they were all out for 122 in 32.2 overs. Shakib scalped 4 wickets for just 8 runs. Mustafizur chipped in with 2 wickets for 30.
