Bangladesh had another excellent day in Kandy in the first Test against Sri Lanka before early end of the days play due to bad light. Bangladesh ended the day on 474 for 4.
Tigers started the day with the overnight score of 302 for 2. Two unbeaten batsmen Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mominul Haque batted the first session without trouble. Together they added 242 runs in the third wicket which is now the highest ever for Bangladesh in Tests.
Shanto looked well set for a double hundred but unfortunately got out on 163 by Lahiru. Mominul on the other end picked up his 11th career century but dismissed on 127 before the tea break.
Then Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Kumar Das paired up to bat for the rest of day. There was a little break for rain before bad light finally forced the umpires to call off the play for the day. Mushfiqur was not out on 43 and Liton was on 25.
