Shakib Al Hasan led with the bowl as Bangladesh wrapped up the series with a 60-run victory against Australia in the fifth and final T20I of the series. Tigers won the series 4-1.

Mahmdullah maintained his good luck with the toss as he choose to bat first. Bangladesh made two changes in the eleven as al-rounder Mosaddek Hossain and seamer Mohammad Saifuddin came into the side replacing Shamim Hossain and Shoriful Islam.

A new opening pair between Naim Sheikh and Mahedi Hasan brought the highest opening stand of 42 in the series among both teams. Mahedi was the first batsman to be dismissed after scoring 12. His partner Naim soon followed him on 23 by Christian. From there, Australian bowlers made it difficult for the batsmen in the crease.

Shakib and Soumya Sarkar both struggled during their knocks of 11 and 16 respectively. Skipper Mahmudullah looked in touch following a big six against Zampa. But Agar cut his innings short for 19. Bangladesh kept losing wickets in the later overs before posting 122 for 8 in 20 overs. Ellis and Christian shared 2 wickets each.

With the ball, Nasum Ahmed gave the dream start for Bangladesh as he removed both in-form batsmen Christian and Marsh. Wade was looking dangerous before Shakib bowed him out on 22. Mahmudullah then got rid of McDermott on the other end.

Australia suffered a batting collapse as they lost six wickets for just 9 runs to all out for 63. Only two batsmen were able to touch the double digits. It is now their lowest T20I total in history while the 60 runs win is now the biggest wins by runs for the Tigers in this format.

Shakib scalped 4 wickets for just 9 runs. During the spell, he became the first Bangladeshi and overall the second bowler after Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga to pick up 100 T20I wickets. Shakib made another record as he became the first player in T20I history to score 1000 runs and take 100 wickets.

Shakib named both player of the match and player of the series for his all-round heroics throughout the series.  He scored 114 runs and picked up 7 wickets.
