Toss : Ireland won the toss and opted to bat first.

Ireland : 177/3 in 20 overs (Delany 88*, Balbirnie 25, Tector 23*; Taskin 2/26, Nasum 1/33)

Bangladesh : 144/10 in 20 overs (Nurul 38, Soumya 37, Afif 17, Taskin 14, Adair 3/33, Young 2/21, Little 2/22)

Result : Ireland won by 33 runs.

Bangladesh suffer defeat in their second warm up clash ahead of T20 World Cup 2021. Tigers fell 33 runs short chasing a target of 178.

Regular captain Mahmudullah again missed out due to injury. Ireland won the toss and decided to bat first. It was tough day for the bowlers as Irish batsmen punished them with some power hitting. It was Delany’s unbeaten 88 of 50 balls powered them to a total of 177 for 3. Taskin was the standout bowler with 2 wickets for 26. Nasum conceded 33 runs and claimed the other wicket.

In response, Bangladesh suffer batting collapse from the start of the innings and reduced to 4 for 52. Nurul Hasan showed some fightback but it was not enough. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored the highest 38. Only three other batsmen managed to touch the double digits as Liton’s side were all out for 144 in 20 overs.

Bangladesh will face Scotland in their first match of the first round in Group B. Match will start from 8 pm (Bangladesh time).
