BCB saddened by the loss of life from boundary wall collapse at Sylhet Divisional Stadium
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is shocked and profoundly saddened at the loss of life and property from the boundary wall collapse at the Sylhet Divisional Stadium in the early hours today. The Board extends deepest sympathies to the families of the victims.
According to a preliminary investigation the portion of the boundary wall which collapsed was built in 2006. It was not a part of the construction work the National Sports Council (NSC) had undertaken for the ICC World Twenty20 Bangladesh 2014.
The Sylhet Divisional Stadium is an establishment under the jurisdiction of the NSC. The BCB has already communicated to the NSC that it expects a comprehensive inquiry into this unfortunate incident.
