Walton wins over Prime Bank
Walton Central Zone has won thrillingly over Prime Bank South Zone in the second round match of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) on Tuesday.
The defending champions secured a 37-run win over South Zone at BKSB Ground-3 in Savar.
Central Zone skipper Mahmudullah Riyad grabbed 5 wickets for 96 to bowl out the South Zone out 272 in the second innings.
Earlier, the game resumed with a 3 hour delay due to heavy fog and the South Zone started to bat with a target of 150 runs with 7 wickets in hand.
Walton Central Zone picked up some quick wickets but Ziaur Rahman kept the fight on until Mahmudullah got him caught by Shohid.
Ziaur 45, Shohag Gazi 23 and Taiabur’s 23 were not enough to save the South Zone.
Central Zone captain Mahmudullah, who got 7 wickets in the first innings, took 5 more in the second innings.
Elias Sunny bagged 3 wickets.
Mahmudullah was awarded the Man of the Match prize for his brilliant bowling performance.
