Bangladesh bowlers had an difficult day at Chattogram in the first day of One-off Test as Afghanistan took the charge thanks to the century from Rahmat Shah. The visitors ended the day on 271 for 5 in 96 overs.

Bangladesh were put into bowl first after losing the toss. Tigers made the playing eleven with all-spin attack who gave them solid start in the first session by picking up 3 wickets for 77. But post lunch, Afghanistan fought back and batted throughout the second session without losing any wicket. Rahmat Shah struck A gutsy century and during the innings he made 120-run partnership with Asghar Afghan to frustrate the Bangladesh bowlers.

Finally Nayeem Hasan broke the stand by dismissing Rahmat on 102. Nayeem took little time to give another break as he bowled Mohammad Nabi for a duck and suddenly brought the Tigers back in the match.

Skipper Shakib Al Hasan used seven bowlers but Asghar and Afsar Zazai remained unbeaten till the end of the days play to put their team in a stong position. Asghar was not out on 88 and Afsar was on 35. Nayeem and Taijul shared two wickets each.
